At the age of 6 Kay watched his father race and knew that that was what he wanted. Not long after he made his first meters in a kart. In 2011 Kay did his first full season in karting. Together with his younger brother Glenn he was found on the track on a weekly basis, despite the weather conditions. Kay won multiple titles in different classes and gained a lot of experience. Besides racing he studies at a school of sports where he is guided by specialists.
2018 saw him make his autosport debut in the LMP3 class. In Dubai he started his season with a double class win. Together with Eurointernational he drove a full ELMS season which got him a podium at the opening round at Paul Ricard and a victory at Monza plus the prestigious Road to Le Mans race. In between he also worked on his GT3 experience in the Thailand Super Series with Vattana Motorsport.
In 2019 Kay makes his debut in the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux stepping in from the third round at Zandvoort. At the start of the year Kay raced in the Asian Le Mans Series with United Autosports with a win at Fuji as the highlight. He was also active on the infamous Nordschleife with a Porsche Cayman and got his permit to compete on the highest level around the Green Hell. In between he got tests in the Honda GT3 programme and BMW GT4.
